Heather LaTorra ’88, M.S. ’94

Heather LaTorra began her career with Marrakech more than 40 years ago as an intern through Southern Connecticut State University and has served as President and CEO since 2014. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to improving the lives of people with disabilities and other barriers to independence while supporting the dedicated employees who make that mission possible. Under Heather’s leadership, Marrakech has continued to grow through innovation, person-centered services, and strong community partnerships. She has served as Board Chair of the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce and the Workers’ Compensation Trust and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Milestones Behavioral Health and volunteers at New Haven Reads. Her honors include serving as keynote speaker for Southern Connecticut State University’s Graduate Commencement, being named to the New Haven Biz Power 50 list and receiving the Quinnipiac Chamber Women in Advocacy Award. Heather believes her greatest accomplishment is the positive impact made in the lives of those Marrakech serves.
