Meet our Foundation Board
Dr. Tammy Moscrip
Class Year: MSW 2009
I am honored to submit my candidacy for the SCSU Alumni Board of Directors. My professional journey is deeply rooted in my experience as a Clinical MSW student at Southern Connecticut State University. During my enrollment, I maintained a 4.0 GPA, received the Tom Buch Child Welfare Endowed Scholarship, and was inducted into the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society. My early dedication to SCSU was exemplified by my successful advocacy for essential renovations to the social work building and my scholarly contribution as a textbook chapter author in collaboration with SCSU social work faculty (Appleby, Colon, Hamilton, 2010). My career has served as a direct application of the education I received at SCSU. In addition to holding a PhD in psychology/cognitive neuroscience from Columbia University and maintaining my LCSW license, I served as Executive Director, Chief Administrator, and Clinical Director for a CT State Approved Special Education Program and therapeutic day school for 15 years. In this leadership role, I supported hundreds of families, provided clinical supervision and guidance to dozens of social workers and social work interns, and led programs through successful NEASC accreditation. I have also served as an adjunct professor for over 10 years and represented the social work field at various regional and national conferences. I have maintained a consistent practice of making annual gifts to SCSU to support the programs and resources that enrich the student experience. As a board member, I seek to bridge the gap between current students and alumni by fostering mentorship and professional development opportunities. I am eager to bring my executive leadership and clinical insight to the Board to support the future of the SCSU community.
