Terrie Estes, '85
Terrie B. Estes, PMP, CHC, CHPC, CCEP, Senior Vice President, Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer for the Office of Compliance Programs at Emory Healthcare, Atlanta, GA. Estes joined the organization in August 2024. She has held prior compliance and privacy roles for MedStar Health, Columbia, MD; Yale New Haven Health, New Haven, CT; and the former Saint Raphael’s Healthcare System, New Haven, CT.
In addition to compliance responsibilities, her financial background has allowed her to operate in financial planning and analysis for Yale New Haven Hospital, serve as the Director, Financial Planning and Administration in the biotech field for 7 years, and to run an ambulatory surgery center for the former Saint Raphael’s Healthcare System. Estes has led the implementation of a number of business development initiatives in the healthcare space prior to finding her passion in healthcare compliance and privacy.
Estes has developed and implemented compliance and privacy programs for three health systems, now implementing the fourth program at Emory Healthcare. Her professional background is evidence not only of consistent engagement with respected employers, but increasingly weightier responsibilities and a track record of professional advancement throughout.
Estes loves to serve with purpose and collaborates enthusiastically. She has been described as extremely intelligent yet soft spoken and measured.
She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven, CT; a Master of Science degree in Organizational Development from Antioch University New England Graduate School, Keene, NH; and a Master of Science degree in Management from Albertus Magnus College, New Haven, CT.
Mrs. Estes resides in Decatur, GA, and Forest Hill, MD, with her husband, Michael C. Estes. She has one son, Donald McAulay, Jr., Ph.D., and two grandchildren, Jayden McAulay and Eva McAulay.
