Support Students’ Basic and Emergent Needs

Removing Barriers to Students’ Ability to Realize their College Dreams

Without reliable access to food, shelter, and other essentials, Southern students struggle to concentrate on their coursework, negatively impacting their academic performance and overall success. Basic needs insecurity significantly increases the risk of students dropping out or failing to complete their degrees. An investment in student livelihood is an investment in stronger communities by ensuring that those who benefit most from higher education can reach their full potential.

Why Your Support Matters

Students should focus on learning, not survival. When basic needs are not met, a student’s academic performance suffers. Your support removes non-academic barriers and helps students complete their degrees. Your donation directly contributes to a stronger, more equitable learning environment where every student has the chance to succeed, regardless of their financial background. A student’s potential should be limited only by their abilities and ambition, not by hunger or housing instability.
