Executive Committee

The Alumni Board is led by the Executive Committee, which consists of the President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and the Director of Alumni Relations.
The Immediate Past President may be asked to serve on the Executive and/or another committee by the President.

The Executive Committee is responsible for overseeing and evaluating the Board’s success in realizing its mission and for setting annual board strategies and priorities. The Executive Committee shall have the power to act for the Board between general meetings; decisions will be presented at a subsequent meeting of the Board.

Each Officer shall serve a one (1) year term commencing with the beginning of the fiscal year. Each Officer may seek re-election throughout their board term.

The Executive Committee shall provide leadership, advice, and assistance to the Director of Alumni Relations and Alumni Relations in the performance of their duties.

Admissions Committee

The Admissions Committee shall partner with the Office of Admissions to assist in recruiting and evaluating prospective students through tabling at recruitment events, sharing their personal experiences with prospective students, and educating friends and family with college-age students on the value of a Southern educational experience.

Awards Committee

The Awards Committee shall review and recommend the nominees to receive Association awards. The committee shall assist in the planning and execution of events associated with these awards.

Bylaws Committee

The By-Laws Committee shall be responsible for maintaining the By-Laws of the Board and shall consider any potential amendments to the By-laws and make such recommendations to the full Board as necessary.

Elections Committee

The Elections Committee shall be responsible for conducting the nomination/election process for the Board of Directors and Officers.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee shall be responsible for the approval of all expenditures of the Association, the development and approval of the annual budget in conjunction with the Office of Alumni Relations, the review of all committee funding requests, and shall make recommendations to the Board for final approval concerning all financial matters.

Programming Committee

The Programming Committee shall be responsible for the engagement of alumni by creating and promoting alumni activities, traditions, and events, e.g., Homecoming and graduating senior events.

Alumni Regional and Affinity Network Committee

The Alumni Regional and Affinity Network Committee will assist the Office of Alumni Relations in the development and growth of new and existing alumni networks.
